Author Neil Gaiman Review by Abby Year Group 6 Book Review When Coraline explores her new home she steps though a door into a different house but just like her's. It's a marvellous adventure but when Coraline finds her other mother and father in the other house, they want Coraline to stay there forever. Her real mum and dad are captured by the other mother. Coraline finds 3 children in the other world. Then she finds a talking cat in the other world. Near the end she saves everyone included her parents. The themes in this book are family, loyalty and love. The most disgusting part was when Coraline's other mother 'coughed, suddenly, in the back of her throat' and pulled a key from her mouth.' The picture in the book was horrible. This showed that the other mother loved Coraline. I recommend this to year 5 and older because it is a bit confusing. Marks out of 5? 4 - Very good |
