Review by Fergus
Year Group 3
This book is written as a diary and is about a girl called Hetty who doesn't have a Mummy or Daddy. It is set in the Victoria age.
At the start of the diary, Hetty lives with a foster family before going back to the Foundling Hospital to live and to learn new skills.
Hetty is strong willed and this sometimes gets her into trouble!
My favourite character is Ida who works at the Foundling Hospital because she is very kind to Hetty and gives Hetty extra food.
I think I am very lucky that I don't have bread and butter every day and I have a kind girl called Isabella as my sister, unlike Hetty.
My favourite part of the book was when the children from the Foundling Hospital were allowed 1 hour at the fun fair. Hetty went on the merry-go-round.
Hetty Feather was on television, which made me want to read the book. I enjoyed reading this book with Mummy and Daddy and I would definitely read about Hetty again.
